Michael C. Comstock, M.D., P.A.
Michael Comstock has been with The Bone and Joint Surgery Clinic since 1993. Dr. Comstock's practice includes particular interests in foot and ankle surgery, sports medicine, joint replacement and fracture surgery. He was originally certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons in 1995 and recently re-certified through the year 2015. He has served as the orthopaedic surgeon for the North Carolina State University men's and women's cross-country and track programs, as well as the wrestling team for the past 12 years.
Dr. Comstock was born and raised in Central Pennsylvania. He graduated summa cum laude from Duke University; then did postgraduate work at Penn State University in exercise physiology. He received his M.D. degree from George Washington University in 1986. Dr. Comstock's surgical training includes a general surgery internship at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, orthopaedic residency and general orthopaedic fellowship training at the University of Florida.
Dr. Comstock welcomed the opportunity to return to the Triangle after completion of his orthopaedic training. He enjoys spending time with his wife and three school-age children. He serves on the Our Lady of Lourdes School advisory board, coaches youth soccer and basketball, and continues to be active in recreational sports. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, North Carolina Medical Society, Southern Orthopaedic Association and the Wake County Medical Society.
